Senior MQ z/OS Specialist
We are currently seeking a Senior MQ z/OS Specialist to join our mainframe team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will support critical infrastructure while contributing to ongoing modernization initiatives.
About the Role
You will be part of a highly skilled mainframe team responsible for supporting both internal and external customers. In this role, you will work across the full lifecycle—from initial ideas to implementation—within a collaborative and flexible environment.
The position offers varied and challenging tasks, requiring both independent work and close teamwork. You will play a key role in maintaining stability while driving continuous improvement and modernization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support IBM MQ on z/OS environments
- Perform maintenance and upgrades (RSU and version upgrades)
- Handle business and customer requests via service channels
- Manage and renew internal and external certificates
- Work with key and certificate management for MQ
- Perform software installation and maintenance using SMP/E
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Provide support across a broad range of mainframe-related activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Several years of hands-on experience working with z/OS
- Strong expertise as an MQ z/OS System Programmer
- Experience with software maintenance and installation (SMP/E)
- Solid knowledge of encryption, PKI, certificates, and ciphers
- Experience working with:
- MQ on z/OS environments
- System upgrades and ongoing maintenance
- Certificate lifecycle management
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of z/OS Unix System Services
- Experience in other z/OS domains
- Experience with MQ on Windows platforms
Location
- Sweden-based candidates are preferred, but we also welcome applicants from other Nordic countries
