Hays is currently recruiting experienced Statistical Programming Consultants to support a high impact Real World Evidence program within a global, research driven organization. This is a consulting assignment via Hays, where you will play a key role in delivering advanced statistical programming solutions for complex, international studies.

Location: Stockholm (remote work)
Start date: July 1, 2026 or earlier

The assignment

In this role, you will provide senior level expertise in statistical programming and data handling, contributing to the full lifecycle of complex studies. You will act as a technical expert and project lead, working closely with cross functional teams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- Programming, testing and documenting statistical outputs such as tables, listings and figures
- Developing and managing analysis datasets (derived datasets)
- Integrating and transforming large datasets from multiple sources and studies
- Leading programming activities for complex studies or study portfolios
- Developing programming specifications and documentation
- Performing data quality checks and validation activities
- Supporting planning, timelines, scope and resource estimation
- Acting as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders
- Contributing to process improvements, automation and development of new tools or macros
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members

Required qualifications
- Strong experience in register based research, including in depth knowledge of Swedish national health registers
- Advanced programming skills in SAS 9.4 / Base SAS (R is a plus)
- Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets
- Experience working with Common Data Models (CDMs) in multi country studies
- Background in Real World Evidence (RWE) as a statistical programmer or data scientist
- Solid understanding of clinical research or drug development processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver with high quality and accuracy

✅ Experience from pharma or CRO environments is considered a strong advantage
