Product Development Manager (Formulation Scientist) to YOIK in Stockholm or Växjö (Gransholm)
On behalf of YOIK, Hays is now recruiting a Product Development Manager (Formulation Scientist) to either Stockholm or Växjö (Gransholm). This is a newly established and highly influential role where you will take full technical ownership of formulations and play a key role in shaping YOIK’s future product portfolio. We are looking for a self-driven and experienced formulation professional with a broad understanding of the full product development process.

About the role
The role as Product Development Manager (Formulation Scientist) is a newly established and highly influential role where you will take full technical ownership of formulations and play a key role in shaping YOIK’s future product portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will act as the company’s senior formulation expert and technical lead within granulation, flavour integration and nicotine systems. The role combines hands-on development with strategic responsibility, external collaboration and long-term capability building.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead formulation, granulation and recipe development, as well as continuous optimisation of existing products
  • Own the technical roadmap for formulations, including make-or-buy decisions
  • Define and implement strategies for nicotine systems, ensuring consistent performance, stability and batch reproducibility
  • Develop stability strategies, shelf-life definitions, QC protocols and formulation testing in close collaboration with QA
  • Make formulation decisions based on analytical and sensory data
  • Ensure Freedom to Operate by considering the existing patent landscape and contributing to IP strategy together with legal partners
  • Structure formulations, processes and documentation to ensure clear company ownership of IP
  • Ensure product development complies with regulatory and legal frameworks
  • Own change management related to formulations from a regulatory and IP perspective
  • Support a robust and sustainable supply chain through smart raw material choices, supplier strategies and risk mitigation
  • Act as a technical counterpart to flavour houses, raw material suppliers and external partners
  • Lead and prioritise the work of an Analytical Specialist and contribute to internal competence development

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a self-driven and experienced formulation professional with a broad understanding of the full product development process.
You will need:
  • A university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, food science, pharmacy or equivalent
  • Several years of relevant experience within formulation, product development or flavour development
  • Strong expertise in powder technology, powder handling, blending and granulation
  • Solid understanding of analytical methods (e.g. pH, nicotine content, moisture)
  • Experience working with nicotine systems and/or flavours
  • English language: Full proficiency (written and oral).

  • Swedish language skills are an advantage, but not required

Location & travel
The position can be based in Stockholm or Växjö. Some business travel will occur, mainly within Europe, approximately once per month (more frequently during the initial phase).
